i added collumbs to split my page up this made the page look allot more orgonised.

i did this on quark and it let me seperate the text i had to create the layout when i first set up the document i allso used text boxes to create text layers this allowed me to move the text to were ever i wanted it on the page.

i then decided to change the layout and then add some pictures with the text box and picture box tools this let me insert pictures and text  and let me put them were i wanted to allso was able to change and add other pictures by inserting a picture box that allowed me to import documents.

i then added quotes to put with my pictures because this will make people understand why the pictures are here and will make them want to find the information inside.i allso then added all my regular and feature content this made my contents page look more full.

i then added my title with the text box i changed the font a few times so i could see witch one fitted and looks good with the pictures, and then added numbers this made the contents look really good and i allso made my contents page look allot more orgonised and it allso made my conents page look like a real one but i was still missing one picture.

so i got the last picture of my artist and used it this is my finished contents.

overall i think my contents page looks like a real contens page and i think it would fit into an indie usic magazine genre and i think allot of people would buy it ....

i added my picture of the upper hand playing live by inserting a picture with the picture box then i imported the picture from my documents then i edited it to make it strech and become allot bigger i allso did my article on microsoft word and then pasted it in to a text box on quark.i was able to do this by adding a new layer of text.

i then added quotes and made them colourfull to stand out and look allot more interesting.i did this by cliking on the text tool and edited the text on the tool bar at the bottom of the page i hen pu them ino my tex but i had t be curfull were about i put them as i had to make sure tha they fited in and i also had to make sure that they looked good to.

i then made my own font in photoshop by using text and shape blocks and saved it as a jpeg and then inserted a picture and added it in . i made my own font to make it unique and so it was my own idea although it took along time to do i think it was worth  because i think it looks really good and it fits with the indie genre.

this is my finished double page spread. i think it looks realy good and dits in with the indie genre.

My pictures

I really like the photographs I have taken and I would like to use some of them on my contents page. The reason I took some of these photos was because I think they fit into the indie style and they make the person look free alone and serious. I also like the way that they all fit in with the background.

i really like this photo because she looks alone and serious i also like the way she is wering an indie style oulfit,although i could of took this picture better because there is a road in the middle were as i would of like it just grass.

i like this shot because it makes her look quite calm ans i like the way she is posing on a rock but were i took the shot could of been better because i have missed her foot out!

i really like this shot next to the light house because it makes her look alone but the frame could of been better.

this was one of my favorate shotes because she looks really indie but she could of lookd alot more happyer in this photo

in this shot she looks quite serious witch i do like,but i think that she could relax her shoulders alot more and  look alot more calm.

this shot was my favorate and i realy wanted to use this as my front cover shot i love the way the lighthouse is in the background and i also like the framing of the shot but i couldnt really think of something to explain the picture 

same goes with this shot i really would of liked to use is i also think the framing is alot better in this shot and i have got all of her shoes in this picture she also is poesing really well and it makes the shot look fantastic with the pose because she looks quite confadant on top with the arm movments but the way the legs are positioned make her look unsure .

i dont quite no why i took this shot but i really like the way she is looking and using direct adress making the audince have to think about the picture.

same goes with this shot i like the pose although it gets ruend by the way she is grabbing her dress.

i loved this picture but then it made me quite scared i think she would look better if she smiled abit more but overall i really like the shot

i think im going to use this shot in my contents paige as she looks quit happy melow and relaxed but looks really confadent to.

i absulutley love the way she poses she looks so relaxed the way her leg is on the wall and i love the miceon cene as she is sitting in a light house window.

After an anticipated wait I finally got an hour with the band to find out what they had to say. I found out what they really want for their future and what it’s like being part of a really popular band.

 The band is made up of four boys called Mark, Jack, Tom and Chris. They have been together for two months and they all have a range of different personalities and cope with things differently.

 I found that Mark and Tom were allot more confident than the other two and had allot more to say on subjects I was asking them.  To start with I asked the band who came up with the name the upper hand? Tom and Mark both said it was them but then Tom gave in and mark said “well we were chilling in the common room one day and we decided we needed a new name.  We came up with the upper hand!”

 they did also say there was some history on the band and they also told us how the band started, Tom one of the louder ones in the group said “well me and Jack started the band we were originally called the funky munks and we  did play for a while with another boy on the guitar we then decided we needed a drummer so we asked Mark. The first time and he refused  then the lad we had on the guitar left, after a good think Mark come to the band and asked if they still needed a drummer we were  overwhelmed. Then from their Chris f folloewd and became the base

The band said they love playing live. They said they have a mixed experience when they play and Tom said it’s different for me and Mark because we have played in gigs and things before were as it’s harder for the other two because they haven’t really done as many!

 The band gets really nervous before they go on but about five minutes before the adrenalin really starts to kick in! The songs differ from their older songs because they have started to create them on the mood they are in.

they are different from other bands. This is because they all have different personalities. The boys play a range of different instruments. Tom is the vocalist in the group and comes up with witch instruments he needs and witch tune it should be played in. Mark is the drummer and plays along to create the beats and all of the loud heavy and exciting music then there’s Chris with the guitar and Jack with the base guitar,

the band explained to me that they all have a huge role to play in the band. “We all put in the effort to become bigger and better”,  Tom makes the lyrics as he is the vocalist and Jack

and Chris decide on the music then they let Mark no which sounds are needed to finish it off. This helps the band become more confident on the music they are making. I also asked the band who has the worst habit they replied ...........“Well Jack by far has the worst habit, when he is playing guitar he always manages to cut his finger on the guitar pick then they all started to laugh.

 the band said that they all try hard and that they do have their days were the cant be botherd but when it comes  bothered but then they all pull together and put all their troubles beside them to get focused   out of the groupe we could definitely say that tom and mark are the louder and more competitive ones while jack and Chris take a backseat to the band and just go with the flow of it all
 so after that anticipating Waite I think we could Fairley say this group of boys have come together not just as band members but as good friends and put together a really popular band.
